United Fashion event: Lille 2019
Four Threads, created by Alanagh Clegg during her Graduate year in The National College of Art and Design, Dublin. Inspired by a family business of handcrafting, her work explores the traditions of these techniques that have been passed down through generations. Using ethically sourced fabrics from local Irish Linen to handwoven Indian ‘khadi’ cotton, the cloth used celebrates their heritage of crafted textiles. The collection has been curated over time through a number of timeless garments which are made to be lived in and loved for a lifetime. Each piece featured is made to order in the studio, handcrafted by Alanagh. New designs are gradually added with additions to fabric choices; including special projects creating limited edition garments working with artisan makers in India.
